Drama Workshop
Leader – Malcolm Ranson
Meets on 2nd Wednesday of month at 2.00pm. Venue – St Firmins Church Hall, Thurlby unless otherwise arranged at members gardens in summer months.
Objective of group: To explore our own interpretation of words, small sketches and other scenarios and to laugh. Our aim is to have fun within the group with no pressure to entertain on stage or give any public performances.
The drama workshop group held its first meeting in Wake House in October 2020, meeting all Covid regulations at the time and still had at lot of fun.
As well as charade style improvisation exercises the workshop also went back to the origins of theatre. We indulged in reading scenes from Sophocles Greek tragedy Antigone.
It seemed appropriate to do so in these Viral Times as actors in the early days of Greek theatre all wore masks!
